Great Lakes Surgical/UPMC Hamot Shock Trauma provides in-house care for trauma patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week by board-certified surgeons with experience in caring for victims of trauma. They have specialists experienced in all facets of general, laparoscopic, endoscopic, endocrine, upper gastrointestinal, and trauma surgery, as well as surgical critical care. The UPMC Hamot Shock Trauma multidisciplinary team, including general surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, surgical intensivists, specialists in reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation, and other ancillary services is trained and ready to treat single and multiple system injuries at a moments notice.
