Emergency Department

Hamot's Emergency Department offers comprehensive treatment and services for minor and major injuries or illness, as well as serious traumas, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Emergency Department is the largest in the region and is equipped with its own radiology suite, including a high-speed CT scanner, to expedite diagnostic testing and allow appropriate treatment decisions to be made quicker.

Our goal is to provide high-quality, timely patient care. Hamot’s emergency and trauma staff are among the most qualified and experienced in the region. Our physicians are board certified and residency trained. Our nurses have advanced credentials and specialty training in emergency medicine. The staff also participates in continuing education to ensure patients receive the most up-to-date treatment available.

Cardiac ER

The Cardiac ER is staffed with a dedicated heart emergency response team specially trained for the aggressive diagnosis and treatment of myocardical infarction, or heart attack, including cardiologists, intensivists, cardiovascular surgeons, emergency physicians, nurses, cath lab techs, respiratory therapists and transfer center personnel. Cardiologists staff the Cardiac ER around the clock, every day of the week, for the continuous availability of emergency catheterization and angioplasty.
