Orthopedic Opportunity in Warren, Pennsylvania
Warren General Hospital has an opportunity for an orthopedic surgeon to join it's orthopedic service who wishes to practice general orthopedic surgery. Any subspecialty interest and training would enhance the practice. This opportunity is offered as full time employment with a production incentive.
The only orthopedic practice in Warren, Pennsylvania has two physicians are looking to add one more orthopod. The well respected practice has established a general orthopedic practice to include arthroscopic surgery, total joint arthroplasties, elective surgeries of both upper and lower extremity including both hand and foot surgery, and a good volume of low energy surgery trauma. They are not currently performing spine surgery, microscopic hand surgery or pediatric surgery.
The orthopedic group is also part of a physician controlled state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center in Pine Grove (just north of the city of Warren) and senior living services are in the development phase on that campus. The ambulatory surgery center may offer a new physician an option to purchase shares if that is of interest to you.
Warren General Hospital is an 105 bed hospital (89 acute, 16 TCC) with a 4-suite operative area and adjacent One-Day Surgical Suite. The combined ICU/CCU unit has six beds. They also have a full service laboratory, state-of-the-art imaging including MRI, CAT, PET, full body CT scanning (including CT angiography) and ultrasound, which has abdominal, OB/GYN, echocardiography and vascular capabilities. In the nuclear medicine service, there are two SPECT gamma cameras, one primarily for cardiac testing and the other for general nuclear medicine. Warren also has a freestanding Cancer Center on the Hospital campus and provides both out-patient radiation therapy and medical oncology services.
The Maternal & Child Health Center combines ten contemporary birthing rooms with a traditional delivery room. There is a Level I nursery with a 6-bed Pediatric section. The Transitional Care Center gives patients after discharge for medical and physical rehabilitation before returning home. The Emergency Department is staffed 24-hours a day and is considered Level II.
Hospital admissions annually are 3500, 364 births, and about 19,000 emergency room visits (supported by a heliport for transfer of critical patients to UPMC Hamot Shock Trauma in Erie).
The city of Warren has a population of 11,000 people with a surrounding patient draw of 75,000. It is nestled in an uncommonly lovely landscape that serves as a backdrop of a relaxed style of living. Cultural activities also thrive, as there are a full array of events through the renovated Library Theatre, Warren Players, Civic Orchestra, Art League and the nearby famous Chautauqua Institution. The community offers attractive, reasonably priced real estate and the neighborhoods are safe and well kept and the education system provides excellent public and private schools. Locates just 60 miles from Erie, PA, 95 miles from Buffalo, NY and 135 miles from Pittsburgh, PA.
