We would like to introduce you to an opportunity to practice Infectious Diseases at UPMC Hamot, in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

UPMC Hamot, located in Erie, PA, is a 351-bed non-profit tertiary care hospital. UPMC Hamot is a fully accredited Level II Trauma Center and is the only trauma center within 100 miles. UPMC Hamot is consistently an award winning hospital, most notably being recognized nationally by Thomsen Reuters and US News & World. For several years the National Research Corporation found UPMC Hamot to be the number one choice for healthcare in the Erie community. These acknowledgments speak volumes about the high quality care we deliver every day. The Medical Staff has over 400 physicians representing most specialties and subspecialties and we have residency training programs in Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurology and Emergency Medicine.

We are looking for an individual who is fellowship trained and BC/BE to join and enhance a well-established, hospital-based, consultative practice with two other physicians.

The ID physicians participate in the hospital’s state-of-the-art infection control program with an Epidemiologist and two Infection Control Practitioners on staff.
There is a hospital-wide, electronic computerized nosocomial infection surveillance system.
An antimicrobial Stewardship Program is now being developed, with involvement of the Infectious Diseases group.
