Erie, Pennsylvania’s fourth largest city exhibits urban appeal while maintaining a family atmosphere.  Erie and UPMC Hamot overlook Presque Isle Bay and lush Presque Isle State Park, with seven miles of beautiful sandy beaches, a nature center and a thirteen-mile paved multi-purpose trail along the bay front and lakeside.  Lake Erie offers the perfect setting for boating, water skiing, sailing and fishing.  Since Erie’s proximity to the Allegheny Mountains is close, there is also Alpine and Nordic skiing.  Our cultural events include a symphony orchestra, ballet and dance companies, and several playhouse groups.  Erie is also home to professional baseball, basketball and ice hockey teams.  Additionally you can enjoy the new Presque Downs & Casino and Bayfront Convention Center. For children we offer a planetarium, the Erie Zoo, a Children’s Museum, community parks, and Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort.  Erie has a wide selection of excellent public, private and parochial schools, as well as four local colleges and universities.  These all contribute to a warm and inviting community that offers a quality of life which is hard to find anywhere else.
