Emergency Department

The UPMC Hamot Shock trauma Unit is an accredited Level II Trauma Center and is equipped with its own radiology suite, including a high-speed Siemens 16 Slice CT scanner to expedite diagnostic testing and enable treatment decisions to be made as efficiently as possible.

UPMC Hamot’s Emergency and Trauma staff is among the most qualified and experienced in the region. Nurses have advanced credentials and routinely participate in continuing education programs to ensure that patients receive the most recent and advanced therapies yet developed.
