5 South
The Cardiology Medical Telemetry Unit on 5 South has 48 beds, with 16 beds dedicated to arterial line capabilities and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring. Patients typically have a short length of stay, resulting in many admissions and discharges in a single day. The primary diagnoses managed by the 5 South staff are congestive heart failure, myocardial infarctions, interventions (stents), high-risk catherizations, ablations and pacemaker implants (both permanent and ICDS).
