Arrhythmia Course
The arrhythmia course is comprised of three eight hour classes and is designed to provide basic instruction in interpreting and treating cardiac arrhythmias. Each eight hour class day will consist of lecture and practice time. Information covered includes sinus, atrial, junctional, ventricular, and paced rhythms. In addition, the course covers heart block, causes, treatments and electrolyte effects on the heart rhythm. Participants receive a textbook, workbook and calipers. A take home test is given on the last day of class and participants must receive a score of 80 to successfully complete the course.
The intended audience for this class is registered nurses, patient care assistants, technicians and others who care for patients requiring heart rhythm monitoring.

Time
8 a.m. - 4 p.m., one day per week over three weeks
Pre-Requisites
Some knowledge of healthcare terminology and anatomy is desired.
Faculty
Registered nurses with many years experience in rhythm interpretation
Fee
No charge to Hamot employees, $250 for non-employees.
Certificate of Completion/Attendance
Participants who pass the post test will receive a certificate of completion
