UPMC Hamot offers a rich learning environment with faculty who are enthusiastic about the opportunity to teach all residents. The wide array of patient pathology seen on a daily basis provides more than ample opportunity to become an expert in all areas of neurology. The autonomy that is provided to the residents beginning internship year facilitates a rapid development of both confidence and competence. The extremely friendly hospital environment, knowledgeable faculty and residents, and the unlimited career opportunities available upon graduation make the UMPC Hamot Neurology Residency the ideal setting to begin your career.

The UPMC Hamot Neurology program and its location and service in Northwest Pennsylvania offer a plethora of clinical experiences involving multiple neurological disease states and pathology. My experience has been challenging and rewarding in building competency in all areas of clinical neurology. The hospital’s staff, core faculty, residents, and supporting clinicians have created a friendly environment with a great learning experience. I feel confident that this training will provide me with a strong foundation in becoming a clinical specialist.
