UPMC Centers for Rehab Services Adds New Name and Resources to Familiar Service
Physical therapy services long associated with the Erie region and UPMC Hamot have begun operating under a new banner, UPMC Centers for Rehab Services (CRS), meaning the same qualified people are providing quality care for Erie residents, but with the considerable support of a comprehensive network that stretches across western Pennsylvania.
In five convenient locations throughout the Erie area, familiar therapists, clinical managers, and staff will continue to serve the community as well as will retain strong, collaborative relationships with UPMC Hamot.
Staff has started delivering to the Erie area the resources of the CRS network, which encompasses 50 community-based locations and a team of 500 rehabilitation professionals. That staff will also operate under CRS’ high-priority commitment to professional development, such as continuing education, academic affiliations, and compliance and privacy programs.
Erie’s CRS locations will keep up the mission of offering the latest programs and treatments, utilizing staff with more than 125 years of collective experience and maintaining their access to UPMC state-of-the-art care. These outpatient Centers offer specialized facilities for aquatic, Anodyne™, myofascial techniques and prenatal/postpartum therapies, along with the McKenzie Method® spinal treatment and complete decongestive therapy for lymphedema. They continue to offer a wide variety of services, from ADL training to ultrasound, and to provide treatments for an array of afflictions, from arthritis to work-related injuries.
Since 1986, UPMC Centers for Rehab Services (CRS) has provided one of the largest networks of community-based, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services in western Pennsylvania — backed by more than 500 experienced and dedicated rehabilitation professionals. As part of the UPMC community, and through an affiliation with the University of Pittsburgh, CRS is able to offer substantial benefits in terms of resources and research for both our patients and therapists. Currently, expert physical, occupational, and speech therapy, including a wide-range of specialized programs, are provided at more than 50 convenient locations in western Pennsylvania, as well as five Erie area locations.
